The Opportunity:

 

We have an excellent opportunity available for a Maintenance Technician – Fitter/Welder to join our afternoon maintenance team.

 

Your responsibilities will include:

 

  • Safely undertake fault diagnosis repairs to fixed and mobile plant equipment,
  • Closing out work orders in a timely manner,
  • Correctly use the recording system for parts and items utilised,
  • Operating MEX maintenance system, CMMS and other varied software systems,
  • Comply with Sims Metal site conditions, OH&S regulations and requirements.
  • Complete required paperwork for each task. JSA, Work Orders and Sim Safe.

 

To be successful in this opportunity, you will have:

 

  • Ability to Arc, Mig & Tig weld,
  • Forklift license essential,
  • Knowledge of Industrial and Mobile hydraulics,
  • Good knowledge of pneumatics,
  • Able to read and interpret engineering drawings,
  • A flexible attitude and the ability to use your own initiative and work with minimal supervision,
  • Be able to work in a dynamic team environment,
  • Good problem solving and strong communication skills,
  • Willing to perform well under production pressures, and
  • Skills to plan and prioritise your work schedules.

 

It will be an added advantage if you have:

 

  • Knowledge and understanding of scrap metal processing techniques and equipment,
  • Confined space certificate,
  • First Aid Certificate,
  • Crane or Rigger license
  • EWP licence.
